The CONVERGO® system

THE NOZZLE MAKES
ALL THE DIFFERENCE.

The wing-shaped profile divides the air jet into a sharp core jet and an inductive supporting jet and converges it again.

The fillet on the outer nozzle profile acts as a "sharp" tear-off edge and reduces the induction of unwanted outside air to a minimum.

The air flow is accelerated via the convex nozzle cheeks in such a way that a concentrated, low-induction air curtain directed against the outside air is created.

The "soft" tear-off edge of the inner nozzle profile causes a desired induction of the room air into the air curtain and contributes to comfortable temperature control of the indoor air.

The CONVERGO® system

THE NOZZLE MAKES
ALL THE DIFFERENCE.

Our patented CONVERGO® pressure chamber nozzle system is based on the Venturi principle. In addition, aerofoil shaped profiles divide the jet of air into a core jet and a support jet, and then bring it back together again. A fillet on the outer nozzle profile diverts the unwanted proportions of outdoor air, while the “soft” edge on the inside of the nozzle profile brings about the desired induction of room air into the air curtain.

The result is a strongly directed jet of air that enables high and wide doors to be screened using little energy.

Teddington air curtain systems are pioneering when it comes to effectiveness and reliability under demanding conditions. CFD simulations conducted on our customers’ premises by the Institute for Air Handling and Refrigeration (ILK) in Dresden as well as various tests in our laboratories provide convincing evidence of the efficiency of our devices fitted with the patented CONVERGO® pressure chamber nozzle system. On the right you can see the excellent screening performance of an air curtain system in a store with around 400 square metres of sales space. The doors covered by the air curtain system are 2.20 m high and 2.00 m wide, and the air curtain system is installed at a height of 2.50 m and width of 2.50 m. The temperatures on a clear, calm day were 8 °C outside and 20 °C inside.
