Christmas donation to ‘Kinder in Not’
Again this year, together with our sister company Hennecke Feinblechtechnik GmbH, we have made a Christmas donation to the Neustadt / Wied-based organisation ‘Aktionsgruppe Kinder in Not e.V.’. Once again this year, the money will benefit needy children in India - specifically an educational project against child labour in the south-eastern state of Andhra Pradesh.
This project was launched in 2021. 600 girls and boys who previously had to contribute to the family income instead of going to school now receive school fees to attend primary and secondary school through sponsorships. During the course of the project, however, it was realised that it is not enough just to make school attendance possible. Many of the children have difficulties in class because they lack basic knowledge and receive no support at home. Their parents are illiterate themselves and struggle to survive.
Now there are tutorials after the regular lessons, which take place in small groups and help the children to catch up on their learning. These two hours a day could make all the difference - but the families would have to pay for this tutoring, which is usually not financially possible for them.
Last year, ‘KiN’ was able to finance this additional learning programme for all 600 girls and boys as a pilot project. After just six months, significant progress was made in everyday school life. This special project would have ended on 31 December 2024 and can now be extended for another year, thanks in part to our donation.
The special feature is the additional donation of 61 x 100€ on top of the usual donation totalling 16,100€.
You may remember the appeal by our Managing Director Stephan Hennecke to become the personal sponsor of a child in India via ‘KiN’. Unfortunately, the target of 100 sponsors was not reached, but 61 new sponsorships were signed - still a great result!

The special thing: The share of advertising and administrative expenses in the total expenditure of the ‘Kinder in Not’ e.V. action group is low at less than 10%. This is possible thanks to the great voluntary commitment of the board, members and helpers. In addition, all advertising and administrative expenses incurred are fully financed by an appropriately earmarked donation, so that third-party donations flow undiminished to the aid projects. ‘KiN’ also bears the donation seal of the German Central Institute for Social Issues in Berlin (DZI).
