Air Curtains: Why they are essential for modern buildings

Energy, comfort and sustainability

Air Curtain systems, also known as Door Air Curtains or Airwalls, are used in buildings and industrial facilities to save energy, increase comfort and contribute to sustainability. An Air Curtain system creates an invisible curtain of air that prevents the unwanted exchange of outside and inside air when the door or gate is open. This has been an established method for over 50 years and is characterized by its combination of proven technology and current challenges.

All year use of air curtains

Air Curtain systems prevent expensively heated indoor air from escaping in winter and cooled indoor air from escaping in summer. This minimizes the heating and cooling requirements of a building, which leads to a considerable reduction in energy costs. For example, the energy loss through a 2.5 x 2.5 m door that is open for approx. 2.5 hours a day amounts to approx. 40,000 kWh. Teddington Air Curtain systems reduce this loss by 70% to just 12,000 kWh. The saving of 28,000 kWh is roughly equivalent to the energy consumption of 2 detached houses (according to the Federal Statistical Office for a 2-person household).

Air Curtain systems are a must in stores, restaurants and public buildings where doors are frequently opened. They ensure a pleasant indoor climate and improve the well-being of customers and employees. They also reduce dust, insects and other contaminations that could enter the building through open doors.

Air Curtain systems are an important component of sustainable building technology. They make an important contribution to conserving resources and protecting the climate by reducing energy consumption. As a result, less fossil fuels are consumed, which leads to a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, Air Curtain systems promote the use of renewable energies, as they can often be used in combination with modern, energy-efficient heating and cooling systems.

How does an Air Curtain work?

Are you not yet familiar with the principle of an Air Curtain system? Let us show you how effectively our technology works.

Why you benefit from Air Curtain systems!

Energy savings

Air Curtain systems make a significant contribution to saving energy costs. Expensive heated or cooled air escapes unhindered outside through unprotected doors.

Sustainability

Do your bit against waste! Air Curtains support you in achieving your sustainability goals.

Good indoor climate

Air Curtains help to prevent draughts in buildings and thus ensure a constantly pleasant indoor climate.

Teddington air curtain systems take you further!

High-quality technology

With the Teddington CONVERGO pressure chamber nozzle system, you get patented technology. Energy savings of up to 80% are possible compared to an unprotected door!
