    The decisive advantage of this technology is that it permits heating during the winter and cooling during the summer using one and the same device. The separate heating and ventilation systems that have been required in the past are replaced by a multisplit system that does both.

    Large ventilation shafts and thick piping are superfluous, an aspect that is of real benefit, especially during the renovation and retrofitting of existing buildings. The energy efficiency of VRF systems is impressive. A single VRF outdoor unit can generate up to around 50 kW of heat and cooling capacity, adapting output to current requirements. Modern systems with integrated heat recovery can achieve output figures of up to approx. 8. This means: up to 8 kW of thermal output are generated with 1 kW of electricity.
